Winter Wheat at Shiprock is a 12 Landscape Art Quilt. An original watercolor painting, 28 by 12 on 300 pound paper, it is matted for a 20 by 36 frame. This watercolor painting is a Colorado Mountains Landscape of Winter scene at Shiprock New Mexico. On our way to Phoenix for Christmas, Dale and I photographed this unusual scene of Shiprock snow-dusted, silhouetted against a stormy sky. An Indian shepherd, buffered against the wind in his red Wal-Mart ski parka, herded his small band of sheep through the winter wheat fields. The Shiprock mirrors his life -- rugged, primeval and a unique feature of the American Southwest.
