Prickly Pear Ablaze is a 14 Landscape Art Quilt. This is a 20 by 12 watercolor art work painting of the Southwest cactus by watercolor artist Jeanine Malaney. This original painting is dual matted ready for a 28by 20 frame. Prickly pear cactus is so fun. They take on gangly but fascinating shapes and then, like a pre-teen blossoming into womanhood, they come ablaze with showy crowns of vibrant colors. The flavor of high desert captivated my imagination here. I love the way prickly pear cactus assume such whimsical shapes. Cactus blossoms are nearly florescent in high sun! Serious flowers for such threatening thorny plants! A delight. Enjoy the moment.
