Along the Animas River is a 13 Landscape Art Quilt. This (13 by 9) landscape watercolor painting of a steam-powered Durango to Silverton Colorado coal train is reminiscent of the 1880s mining days. The ride provides spectacular wilderness scenery through the San Juan Mountains sometimes hanging on a cliff, sometimes through a pine and spruce canyon, sometimes along the Animas River. I first rode this train in 1952 as a small child, on vacation from Indiana. I have been enthralled with Colorado ever since and eventually moved to Pagosa Springs. This landscape watercolor painting brings me right back to that first ride stirred with fond memories of family travels throughout the American Southwest. This is just one of many of the Artist landscape watercolor painting of the southwest. This original painting is dual matted ready for a 16 by 20 frame.
You can view the original watercolor artwork before making your purchase (framed paintings are created digitally and dose not allow a large view of the original art.
We provide a larger view of the our standard watercolor frames corners for reframing options.
