Landscape Quilt "Penstemon on Saguaro I"

This is a 13 by 18 Original Landscape Quilt. Famous for their accordion-like trunk which expands with rain to store water for the desert drought, the Saguaro is an amazing survivalist. Their armor of long and short spines provides protection from animals but also shelter to some insects and birds, like the cactus wren . The thorny bull thistle is a likely companion. This original southwest fabric landscape painting reminds me of my 18 years living in desert.

Wilson rises to 14,246 feet, near Telluride, in the San Juan Mountains, and about 100 miles from the Four Corners Monument. Located near timberline, the Alta Lakes reflect deep sky blues and spruce greens. The artist took liberties to include the aspen.

This is a 42 by 33 original art quilt painting - Garden Fence- by Colorado quilt artist Jeanine Malaney. I had a garden fence, six feet tall to keep the elk out of the vegetables! I glamorized the fence and added flowers for this original fabric art quilt painting. Up on the Mogollon Rim in the Arizona mountains, these flowers would have to be fenced from the elk too! A butterfly makes a brief appearance as evening settles in. The fabric art quilt - Garden Fence - a contemporary landscape art quilt.
