Ms Jeanine Malaney Pagosa Springs, Colorado Artist
I want to create fine art that emotionally touches others in a positive way. It is my goal that my fabric art and watercolor paintings be a venue for peace, calmness, and spiritual renewal in a hectic world. We are bombarded with negativity and hedonistic disillusions. We’ve lost loved ones and global siblings to terrorism, war, AIDS, the great tsunami and now Katrina. I would share the privilege I have to travel Colorado roads and trails, to go to those majestic quiet places and be comforted, to realign my world with an inner focus… I would share this through my art. This is my passion, my mission.
Ms. Malaney took art classes in college, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, graduate work in Computer Science, and retired from an exciting career in aerospace engineering and technical management with Lockheed Martin. Jeanine has lived and studied art throughout of her life. Her father was also a professional artist. She has had a classical education in Fine Arts at the University of Indiana. After moving to Pagosa Springs, she studied under famous artists like: Pierre Mion, Tom Lockhart, Randall Davis, and Betty Slade. The beauty that nature has provided in this new location has allowed her to touch people in a positive way through her art.

Artist’s Philosophy
What a thrill to be retired and spend my time creating art! My preferred style is American Western Realism in watercolor. I am also exploring a new mixed-media technique of fabric collage with paint and thread I call Painting With Fabric. My inspiration comes from a lifelong fascination with the American West landscape, mountains, wildlife, and Indian and cowboy lore. It is my goal that my art be a venue for peace, calmness, and spiritual renewal in a hectic world. I would share the privilege I have to travel Colorado roads and trails, to go to those majestic quiet places and be comforted, to realign my world with an inner focus... I would share this through my art. This is my passion, my mission. I donate 50% of my profit to charity or in service to others.
